چکیده
Objective: The aim of this research is to create a versatile approach produce cellulose from nipa fronds, which are sustainable resource. Methods: study focuses on determining the amount in effectiveness simplified physicochemical pretreatment, and purity isolated a-cellulose. biomass was pretreated using physical chemical methods analyzed through gravimetric analysis determine its composition, delignification efficiency at varying concentrations Sodium hydroxide (NaOH), a-cellulose (iNaC) National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) protocol, ”NREL/TP-510- 42618”. data statistically One-way Analysis Variance. Findings: results showed that increasing concentration NaOH led positive responses delignification, decreased hemicellulose, increased recovery cellulose. found as increased, recovered also increased. Treatment 4 (15% NaOH) 2 (10% produced 79% w/w 77.45% a-cellulose, respectively. While highly effective breaking down biomass, statistical revealed comparable terms producing pulp frond without requiring higher NaOH. This reduction waste, making more option. Phytochemicals and Antioxidant Capacity from Nypa fruticans Wurmb. Fruit
Nypa fruticans Wurmb. is one of the important underutilized fruit of Malaysia, which lacks scientific attention. Total phenolics, flavonoid content, and antioxidant capacities from endosperm extracts of Nypa fruticans (unripe and ripe fruits) were evaluated. Endosperm extract of unripe fruits (EEU) exhibited the highest phenolics (135.6 ± 4.5 mg GAE/g), flavonoid content (68.6 ± 3.1 RE/g), and ...
متن کاملStudies on the Effect pH on the Sorption of Pb(II) and Cu(II) ions from Aqueous Media by Nipa Palm (Nypa fruticans Wurmb)
The effect of pH on the sorption of Pb and Cu ion onto Nypa fruticans Wurmb biomass was investigated. Initial pH value of 2, 5, 7, 9, and 12 were used for this study with varying initial concentrations of metal ions. The experimental results were analyzed in terms of Langmuir, Freundlich and Flory-Huggins isotherms. The data showed that the maximum pH (pHmax) for the efficient sorption of Pb an...
متن کاملAqueous Extract of Nypa fruticans Wurmb. Vinegar Alleviates Postprandial Hyperglycemia in Normoglycemic Rats †
Nypa fruticans Wurmb. vinegar, commonly known as nipa palm vinegar (NPV) has been used as a folklore medicine among the Malay community to treat diabetes. Early work has shown that aqueous extract (AE) of NPV exerts a potent antihyperglycemic effect. Thus, this study is conducted to evaluate the effect of AE on postprandial hyperglycemia in an attempt to understand its mechanism of antidiabetic...
متن کاملNypa fruticans Wurmb. Vinegar’s Aqueous Extract Stimulates Insulin Secretion and Exerts Hepatoprotective Effect on STZ-Induced Diabetic Rats
BACKGROUND An aqueous extract (AE) of vinegar made from Nypa fruticans Wurmb. can improve postprandial glucose levels in normoglycaemic rats. The aim of this study was to evaluate its antihyperglycaemic activity further using in vivo and in vitro approaches. METHODS AE was administered to streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats twice daily at three doses (1000, 500, and 250 mg/kg b.w.) for...
متن کاملSynergistic Effect of Potassium Iodide on Corrosion Inhibition of Mild Steel in HCl Medium by Extracts of Nypa Fruticans’ Wurmb
The effect of Nypa fruticans’ wurmb extract and the mixture of various concentration of KI and Nypa fruticans’ wurmb extract on corrosion of mild steel in 0.1M and 0.5M HCl have been investigated using weight loss methods. The study revealed that mild steel is more efficiently inhibited by Nypa fruticans’ wurmb in the presence of KI than pure extract of Nypa fruticans’ wurmb. The inhibition eff...
